Having chosen the desired career, it is worth waiting for the beginning of the first working shift. Then she would go to work with him. You can send a character yourself, but then the productivity of the work will not grow, as in conventional careers.
The gameplay itself in these professions is a mode of performing tasks that occur in the selected locations of each profession. Productivity and career growth depend on their implementation. The more the scale of completed tasks is filled, the better for work and career growth, respectively. Tasks can be performed out of order, but the easier it is performed, the less points will be added to the scale.
Each work has its own list of emerging tasks.
- Doctor is engaged in patient support, diagnosis of the patient's diseases, diagnosis and treatment.
- Detective collects evidence at the crime scene, maps the offender, analyzes the evidence obtained and catches the offender by orientation.
- Scientist works in a laboratory, based on which he studies the structure of objects, crystals and plants, creates various devices and mixtures.

It is also worth noting that the editing of the working area is impossible. This option is not available when you hit the location. But the objects will be available when reaching career heights and they can be used on the "home" site to create an appropriate atmosphere.
Despite the simplicity of the tasks and their monotony, the game is never boring, and the new opportunity to live a career together with your character adds interest to the gameplay.

The addition of "Get to Work" included the possibility and purchase of land for the construction of the store. As in the third part of the game "The Sims", players can buy a plot or a ready-made store.

The game set in addition to career roles added interesting rewards in each of the new professions, clothing and appearance when creating a character, furniture and items, depending on the selected career line.
Sims' skills were also expanded, with the addition of baking and photography skills.
