Judging which games are good, which are bad, which deserve attention, and which are not – this is an incredibly complex and highly individualized process, but we will try to look at it objectively.
In this collection, we have collected for you the 100 best games for Sony PlayStation 4 according to our gaming portal.
EDITOR'S CHOICE
Seven of the best games that we spent more than one hour playing. Interesting plot, atmosphere, difficult choice, beautiful soundtrack – all this you will find in the projects listed.
«THE LAST OF US»
Twenty years after a pandemic radically transformed known civilization, infected humans run amuck and survivors kill one another for sustenance and weapons - literally whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a salty survivor, is hired to smuggle a fourteen-year-old girl, Ellie, out of a rough military quarantine, but what begins as a simple job quickly turns into a brutal journey across the country.
«THE LAST OF US» - this is one of the best demonstrations of the fact that in our world or in any other variation of it, the main evil is not animals/zombies/the living dead, who know nothing else but their instincts, but people.
The adventure of Joel and Ellie is an amazing story about loyalty, friendship, courage and self-sacrifice, which should be read by absolutely anyone.
«UNCHARTED 4 A THIEF'S END»
Set 3 years after the events of Uncharted 3, Nathan Drake has apparently left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn’t take long for adventure to come calling when Drake’s brother, Sam, re-emerges asking for his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake cannot resist. On the hunt for Captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure, Sam and Drake embark on a journey to find Libertalia, the pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes players around the globe, through jungle isles, urban cities and snow-capped peaks on the search for Avery’s fortune..
Uncharted — this is a series of games about the adventures of a treasure hunter, after the final passage of which you continue to scroll through the story of Nathan Drake for several hours, until you gather the strength and thoughts to finally say: "God – it was beautiful."
«HORIZON ZERO DAWN»
As Horizon Zero Dawn’s main protagonist Aloy, a skilled hunter, explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures. Embark on an emotional journey to unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artifacts and advanced technologies that will determine the fate of this planet, and of life itself..
An unusual vision of a post-apocalyptic world in which the basis is created not by people, but by biological machines.
A huge, blooming world where human influence on nature has been minimized, and the descendants of the culprit of the collapse of human greed and consumerism are forced to put up with the role of not only the hunter, but also the victim.
An insanely interesting combat system with machines that requires an individual approach and non-standard thinking to each opponent.
An interesting storyline with dozens of characters, the development of which you continue to follow throughout the game.
«THE WITCHER 3»
With the Empire attacking the Kingdoms of the North and the Wild Hunt, a cavalcade of ghastly riders, breathing down your neck, the only way to survive is to fight back. As Geralt of Rivia, a master swordsman and monster hunter, leave none of your enemies standing. Explore a gigantic open world, slay beasts and decide the fates of whole communities with your actions, all in a genuine next generation format. Also known as "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
Perhaps it is the Witcher's universe (Geralt of Rivia, the Butcher of Blaviken, the white-Haired one) that reveals with maximum contrast the statement that not all monsters become monsters. Sometimes those who look different from the rest and those who are branded a monster show more humanity than people.
The game "the Witcher 3" with its main version and additions "hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine" blur the boundaries between good and evil. A moral code? Check yourself, your principles, because in this game, any decision you make globally affects the entire course of history.
«GOD OF WAR»
His vengeance against the gods of Olympus far behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the lands of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive… and teach his son to do the same. As mentor and protector to a son determined to earn his respect, Kratos is faced with an unexpected opportunity to master the rage that has long defined him. Questioning the dark lineage he’s passed on to his son, he hopes to make amends for the shortcomings of his past. Set within the untamed forests, mountains, and realms of Norse lore, God of War features a distinctly new setting with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters, and gods.
The continuation of the legendary series of computer games about the killer of the gods Kratos was waiting for millions of players from all over the world, including our editorial staff.
"God of War" - this is a game that cannot be said that it is perfect and devoid of serious flaws, but the Scandinavian motifs in this perspective look very unusual and interesting.
Here it is difficult not to appreciate the rich setting, with a non-linear combat system, as well as an extremely fascinating story and great music.
«DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN»
Inspired by the short called “Kara”, Detroit is a neo-noir thriller set in the near-future city of Detroit. Androids, who look exactly like human beings, have replaced humans in most tasks: they are workers, babysitters, gardeners, nurses, teachers, clerks. The story of Detroit starts with an unexplained incident that begins to affect the Androids. Some disappear without any explanation, others have unexpected behaviors and strangely show signs of emotions. The rumors of “deviant” androids start spreading, but no one seems to know what’s really happening....
«DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN» - this is a masterpiece, no matter what anyone says, but not in terms of the quality of the direct game product, but as a social phenomenon that suspends a huge number of questions of morality and humanity before each player.
What is freedom? What is the price for it? The people above all else? Can we talk about morality in our society?
Dozens and hundreds of questions that you are trying to find unambiguous answers to after the next game (with a new ending). Isn't that what we look for in any good game? And here we found it in abundance!

As we said at the very beginning: "The question of choosing the best games is a complex process based on your own priorities and expectations for a really good project."
So let me indicate to the author of this article his own choice, which many may not agree with, given the existing ratings – this is the seventh game in the "editors' Choice " - "ASSASSIN's CREED ODYSSEY". Even more, it is not only "Odyssey", but in General a series of games "Assassin's Creed".
"ODYSSEY" and "Origins" are games that are out of course throughout the series, but maybe that's why they are worth paying attention to.
I don't know about other players, but I'm not looking for a detailed plot here. The main plus, which is also a key factor in why I included "Odyssey" in the top 7, is the visual beauty that is simply mesmerizing.
A huge world, an unsurpassed atmosphere of Ancient Greece, an exciting combat system, and of course-the opportunity to personally, even with such obvious conventions, talk to all famous historical figures.
Perhaps this love for "Odyssey" is dictated by a personal interest in the history of Ancient Greece and Rome, but it is definitely worth plunging into this beautiful world.
Best games for PS4
For your convenience, we have sorted the list of games selected by our editors, according to the player ratings on the well-known portal "Metacritic".
Yes, the points given there, at least for some games, should be believed with caution, but in General they sufficiently show the attitude of gaming communities to them.
In conclusion. This selection is the choice of our editorial staff. It cannot be called exhaustive, as the games worth your attention for the PS4 console are much more. If you do not agree with the choice, we are always open to constructive discussion, but please respect each other's tastes and preferences.
