Updated October 2026. Tedd Deireadh, The Final Age is the last main quest before the epilogue. Eredin's warning about Avallac'h seems to come true, the White Frost begins, and Geralt follows Yennefer across Undvik to the elven tower Tor Gvalch'ca. There's no boss and no choice here that changes the ending: this is where the game adds up the choices you already made and decides Ciri's fate.

Quick answer

What decides the ending: five earlier Ciri choices. If at least half are positive, Ciri survives; mostly negative, she doesn't come back.

The last dialogue with Ciri: changes her mood only, not the ending, according to the Witcher Wiki.

The route: follow Yennefer on horseback, then on foot. Stay close to her inside the White Frost or Geralt takes damage.

Reward: 1,000 XP. Next: Something Ends, Something Begins (the epilogue).

Tedd Deireadh, The Final Age Walkthrough

1. Follow Yennefer

Right after On Thin Ice, a new Conjunction of the Spheres starts and Geralt sets off after Avallac'h with Yennefer. Your health is refilled automatically. It's a long run, so it's a good moment for a Werewolf decoction (see our potions and decoctions guide). Fire rains down as you approach the Ice Giant's ship, so dodge it.

2. The Horses

You reach horses for the next stretch. Monsters spawn everywhere, and a Nekker Warrior decoction helps keep your horse from panicking and throwing you. Yennefer rides erratically and often leads you straight into danger, so following her on foot is fine: nothing fails if you fall behind, and you can loot and fight as you like.

The last stretch is on foot, up toward Tor Gvalch'ca.

3. On Foot to Tor Gvalch'ca

After the Abandoned Village, leave the horses and continue on foot. Yennefer shields you from the White Frost, but Geralt takes damage if he strays too far from her. Kill the couple of Wild Hunt hounds that show up. At the tower, Yennefer opens a hole in the barrier. From here it's dialogue and cutscenes; there's no waypoint, but the path up is easy to see.

4. Avallac'h and Ciri

When Geralt challenges Avallac'h, the elf throws down his sword. He didn't betray anyone: it was Ciri's idea to face the White Frost herself. You get several dialogue options with Ciri, but she goes either way, so wishing her luck is a natural choice. The Witcher Wiki notes that this last answer changes her mood, not her ending.

5. Ciri Enters the Tower

As Ciri steps through the gate, she remembers the key moments you shared. Those flashbacks are the game checking your choices. The quest ends with 1,000 XP, and the result plays out in the epilogue, Something Ends, Something Begins.
