Witcher 3 Ciri's Story: Visiting Junior and Breakneck Speed. When each flashback plays, how to rescue Dudu, the ride to Temple Isle and the cliff to avoid.

Updated October 2026. In Novigrad you play Ciri twice more. Both scenes cover the same night: Ciri and Dandelion owed Whoreson Junior money, Junior tortured their doppler friend Dudu, and Ciri went in to get him out. Visiting Junior is the rescue. Breakneck Speed is the escape to Temple Isle that ends with Dandelion in a cell. Neither has a story choice; they're short, mostly action, and the main way to fail is a careless fall.
Quick answer
Visiting Junior: plays in Get Junior when Junior tells his side. Climb to the roof, then the balcony, go in through the window, fight Junior, and escape.
Breakneck Speed: plays in A Poet Under Pressure when Dandelion tells his side. Ride to Temple Isle, kill the men at the door, then fight in front of the temple.
Watch out: near the temple door there's a cliff edge. Don't use Ciri's blink carelessly there, or you fall to your death.
No choices: neither quest changes the ending or anything else.
Both Ciri's Story Quests in Novigrad
| Quest | When it plays | What you do as Ciri |
|---|---|---|
| Visiting Junior | In Get Junior, when Geralt makes Junior talk about Ciri | Break into Junior's hideout and free Dudu |
| Breakneck Speed | In A Poet Under Pressure, when Dandelion tells what happened next | Escape with Dandelion to Temple Isle |

Ciri's Story: Visiting Junior
Ciri and Dandelion had promised Junior a big reward for his help and never paid. Junior took their friend Dudu, a doppler, and tortured him. Ciri goes to get him back:
- Climb onto the roof.
- Get onto the balcony.
- Go in through the window into Junior's room.
- Fight Whoreson Junior. The objective says "kill", but Ciri only knocks him down, which is why Geralt can find him alive later.
- Escape from the hideout.
Junior sends his thugs after them. Dudu escapes by changing shape, and Ciri and Dandelion run. The story continues in Breakneck Speed.
Ciri's Story: Breakneck Speed
- Run out of the alley and turn right toward a large gate. Dandelion is behind it. The gate opens and two horses are there. You don't have to fight yet.
- Get on a horse and ride. Riding is optional, but if you run on foot, the "mount a horse" objective fails. That changes nothing in the story.
- Get off at the door to the Great Temple of the Eternal Fire. Junior's men guard it. Kill them and go through the door.
- In front of the temple, Ciri and Dandelion knock over Nathaniel Pastodi, who calls the guards. Fight off Junior's men.
The fight by the temple door is near a cliff edge. Ciri's blink can send you over it, which is a fatal fall. Also, enemies along the route respawn endlessly, so don't stop to fight them; just keep moving to the next objective.
At the end, a Temple Guard aims a crossbow at Ciri. Dandelion throws himself at the guard to save her, and Ciri uses the power of her Elder Blood to teleport away. Dandelion is captured and thrown into a dungeon, which is why you have to break him out in A Poet Under Pressure.
