Disturbance in The Witcher 3: Find the Source, Fix the Megascope and the Correct Answers for Ida Emean
Witcher 3 Disturbance: what breaks Yennefer's megascope, using the Potestaquisitor, and the correct dialogue answers for the call with Ida Emean.

Updated October 2026. Disturbance is Yennefer's part of Ugly Baby. She needs her megascope working to contact an elven sage about Uma's curse, but her crystals keep exploding. Your job is to find out why, then sit in on one of the most delicate conversations in the game. Say the wrong thing to the elf and Yennefer will make you apologize, so here are the right answers.
Quick answer
The cause: use the Potestaquisitor in the Main Hall. The disturbance is near Uma, but it's Lambert's crates of dimeritium bombs.
The call: four correct lines with Ida Emean: "Caed'mil, Aen Saevherne.", (optional) "Know the dialect?", "Heard the words before, haven't you?" and "What is it?"
Wrong answers: Ida reacts coldly and Yennefer asks you to apologize afterwards. Nothing worse.
Next: finish the other two keep tasks; Disturbance sets them up.
Disturbance Walkthrough
1. The Broken Megascope
Go up to the Guest Room at Kaer Morhen. On the way you hear an explosion and Yennefer swearing. Walk up to her: it's the third crystal that has failed, and she's sure something nearby is interfering with her magic. She gives you the Potestaquisitor, a device that hums louder the closer you get to a magical disturbance.
If you turned Yennefer down in The Last Wish and pick a fight with her at the start, she teleports you into the lake near Kaer Morhen. Just walk back to her and carry on.
2. Find the Disturbance
Equip the Potestaquisitor, go to the Main Hall and follow the sound as it gets louder. It leads you to Uma, but he isn't the cause, and neither is the wall. The real source is a stack of crates full of dimeritium bombs that Lambert left there. Vesemir moves them while you keep an eye on Uma.
3. Report Back to Yennefer
Tell Yennefer what you found. She's sure Lambert did it on purpose; you can say he knew exactly what he was doing, or that he knows nothing about megascopes. Then she gets ready for the call and asks you to behave.
4. The Call with Ida Emean
Ida Emean aep Sivney is an elven sage, and she's touchy about etiquette. The call is about Uma's curse and the White Frost. Pick these lines:
| Moment | Correct line |
|---|---|
| Greeting | "Caed'mil, Aen Saevherne." |
| Optional | "Know the dialect?" |
| About the curse | "Heard the words before, haven't you?" |
| At the end | "What is it?" |
Any wrong line gets an instant cold reaction from Ida and a telling-off from Yennefer afterwards; she'll ask you to apologize, and you can agree or refuse. If you chose the optional "Know the dialect?", asking Yennefer afterwards whether she understood everything leads to a mention of the elves' Migration.
What's Next
The quest ends after the conversation. Do the other two Kaer Morhen tasks if you haven't yet: To Bait a Forktail with Eskel and The Final Trial with Lambert. Then Ugly Baby continues.
