Recommendations for the walkthrough: run to the quest "The King's Gambit»
"Skellige" is not only a very colorful location inhabited by a variety of creatures, but also a place of focus of the famous and much-loved Scandinavian mythology.
You can study the manners of the people of Skellige for a very long time, and such additional tasks as "The Phantom of Eldberg" will greatly simplify this.
This quest is not characterized by high complexity and a significant load on the main storyline, but all those who are not indifferent to Scandinavian myths should definitely spend time on it.
How to Start
Task/order "The Phantom of Eldberg" can be obtained in two ways:
1. During the passage of the quest "The King is Dead – Long Live the King", standing up for Yennifer in a conversation with Madman Lugos, the task appears in the list automatically.
2. Get the order directly from the "Bulletin Board" in the village "Arinbjorn".
One way or another, but you can start the passage only after a personal visit to the village, getting acquainted with the Jorund under not very good, but quite familiar circumstances.
Walkthrough
After a brief conversation with Kori and Kraki, we get from Jorund the necessary information for the passage of the task, spending time drinking and talking with a nice and noble man.
Jorund tells Geralt that a Ghost has appeared at the Eldberg lighthouse after the lighthouse suddenly went out. In search of the reason on the island where the lighthouse is located, two brave men were sent, of which none returned, including the lighthouse Keeper Mikkjal.
After learning everything you need, Geralt goes to the island, passing by a kind of "Graveyard of Ships" and Sirens level 15.
You can use a boat or go to the lighthouse riding a roach, you decide.
Even before reaching the lighthouse, Geralt notices a strange creeping fog, which is not peculiar to ordinary ghosts.
Also on the road the Witcher will meet a camp of pirates, who are here are not random…
Be ready to fight with several ghosts, apply the appropriate elixir and prepare the sign "Irden".
Defeating the ghosts and moving to the lighthouse, Geralt discovers the dwelling of the caretaker and knocking on the door finally get acquainted with the only living person on the island.
Unfortunately, the lighthouse Keeper Mikkjal little is known about the causes of the appearance of ghosts. But in the course conversation Geralt learns, that appeared they immediately after, as fires of beacon extinguished, and led by this "Ghost host" was an unusual being, from which breathed cold.
Geralt goes to the lighthouse, on the way bumping into a few more ghosts. And at the entrance to the lighthouse, the veil of mystery is slightly opened when the Witcher discovers writing on the wall of the lighthouse, and when he enters, he finds a letter, during the reading of which it becomes clear that the caretaker is not as innocent as he tried to present in a conversation with Geralt. He contacted a bad company and promised them certain services.
The discovered symbol/writings directly indicate that the unusual Ghost is none other than the "Penitent", which confirms Mikkjal's guilt.
Returning to the caretaker's house, Geralt will tell about his findings and tell the reason for the appearance of ghosts.
Defeat "Repentant" can be will only after, as again will light up fires of beacon, but ignite their can only himself culprit - Mikkjal.
After a short persuasion, the caretaker and Geralt go to the lighthouse, but on their way becomes "Penitent", which will detain the Witcher, while Mikkjal will ignite the lighthouse lights.
Defeat the Ghost can be a standard set:
- Constant evasion;
- Traps sign "Irden";
- Oil against Ghosts.
Be prepared to meet not only the "leader", but also with two waves of ghost’s level 15.
After lighting the lights of the lighthouse "Penitent" can be defeated, thereby freeing the island.
After his victory (take away all the trophies from him) talk to the lighthouse Keeper about the consequences of his activities and make a decision:
1. "Let it slide. This time" - allowing him to stay on the island and continue working alone.
2. "You gotta leave" - without being granted forgiveness for their actions Geralt will order Mikkjal to leave the island.
Back in the village "Arinbjorn" Geralt tells the story of the Land, not forgetting to remind the honored award.
The final passage will be put after another meeting with the brothers Kraki and Kori, during which all die except Geralt, including Jorund, again stood up for the Witcher.
On the threshold of death, he will utter a sufficiently memorable phrase:
"Pour a nip off for me atimes. For Jorund…son of Sigvald. Who lived honorable and cied like a fool. "
On this task can be considered passed, as after leaving the tavern Geralt will be waiting for the villagers, which will start the quest "Stranger in a Strange Land".
