About Crown & Arrow
Crown & Arrow is a realistic medieval tower defense for the browser. No magic, no gunpowder: just bows, crossbows, catapults and a castle that must not fall.
An enemy army marches along the road to your gate. Build towers on any free grass tile, put barricades on the road and post spearmen to hold the line. Every defense has 3 levels, and level 3 unlocks a special ability.
Armor matters. Arrows bounce off knights and shields, crossbow bolts punch through heavy armor, catapult stones crush groups, and spearmen deal double damage to cavalry. Mix your defenses, use Volley and Boiling Tar at the right moment, and earn up to 3 stars on every battle.
- Campaign: Green Valley (20 waves), River Ford (30) and Mountain Pass (50)
- 3 difficulties: Squire, Knight and Lord
- 6 defenses, each with 3 levels and a level-3 special
- 8 enemy types with realistic armor, plus Battering Ram and Siege Tower bosses

Defenses
Fast shots, long range. Level 3: Fire Arrows, every 3rd arrow sets the target on fire.
Slow but strong against knights. Level 3: Marksmen, 25% chance of a double-damage headshot.
Area damage against groups. Level 3: Fire Pots, stones leave burning ground for 3 s.
Bolts hit several enemies in a line. Level 3: Skewer, pierce 5 enemies and slow them.
Slows enemies, stakes hurt cavalry. Level 3: Iron Stakes, attackers take back the damage they deal.
Soldiers block the road, double damage to cavalry. Level 3: Shield Wall, 40% less damage taken.
Every enemy that reaches the gate deals damage. Keep it above 80% for 3 stars.

Weak but comes in big numbers.
The basic soldier.
Arrows do 60% less from the front. Burn them.
Shoots your spearmen and barricades.
Rushes down the road.
Arrows barely hurt. Use crossbows.

Is Crown & Arrow free?
Yes. It's free to play in your browser, with no download.
How do I unlock River Ford and Mountain Pass?
Win the previous battle on any difficulty. Each win also earns 1 to 3 stars, depending on how much of your castle is left.
What's the best defense against knights?
Crossbow towers and ballistas: armor-piercing bolts keep about 90% of their damage against heavy armor, while arrows drop to 30%.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in your browser, per player profile. Play on the same browser to keep your stars.
